@Cattituude @Xixioge @SusieFierce @Merrie_NY Hey guys, just read your tweets. Firstly I understand your frustration! Adam has always been big here in NZ, sell out GNT concert with 1000s of patrons, he is also popular with teens here. And certainly during his promo tour here a couple of weeks back, radio stations, tv and all forms of media were dripping over him, to get a piece of his 'celebrity'. They wanted him for that, for their ratings!!
It has felt strange to me that his last 3 singles have been hard for us fans to get onto the radio, and suddenly seem to be pulled off. VERY STRANGE. So when SonyMusicNZ tweeted weeks ago that Trespassing had been serviced to radio, we were very eager to hear.......pretty much the only times we did was when they had him in their studios interviewing him.....then nothing. Myself and the NZGlitterTribe voted and requested our asses off, but not in spamming fashion, for this song over the next couple of weeks, spending (wasting?) a lot of $$. NOTHING.
2 days ago one of our members got a reply from the MoreFM dj to say his boss says 'he can't play it'. That instantly tickled my suspicions so I txt ZM (massive popular pop station) and asked "Why aren't you guys playing Trespassing by Adam Lambert, don't you like it"......the dj txt me back saying, "actually we LOVE it, but the record company still won't allow us to play it, hopefully we can play it soon". I knew Sony had tweeted weeks before saying it was serviced, i have a very good relationship with SonyNZ and they follow me on twitter, so i tweeted them with this news, they responded that this was surprising to them as they had given it to all NZ radio. Basically the radio station had lied. I called them on their BS (Zm also follows me) and very publicly forwarded Sonys message and had a discussion with Sony for Zm to read. That night, ZM had added trespassing to their Top20 voting page!! AMAZING. The entire NZGT voted like nuts for the countdown, but it didn't chart....will try again tonight. Sony has told me that ultimately after a song has been serviced, it is up to the stations to play, it's their choice.
My advice to you is this, don't underestimate the power politics has over the media, radio stations and TV are owned by a handful of people worldwide. Their are some heavy political movements going on right now and Churches are working hard to stop them, in many ways. Not saying this IS why this is happening to Adam, but I know several US stations that refuse to play him because of his AMAs kiss FFS, so don't rule it out.
BUT DON'T GIVE UP GUYS!! No amount of time or money or hope is wasted on Adams beautiful and important influence on the world. We deserve to hear his music, so does the rest of the public and Adam deserves for it to be heard. FIGHT FOR HIM. Contact Sony USA.....ALL the Sonys, include the radio stations that wont play him in your tweets and messages etc, tell them that so many of you are requesting and you are being ignored. Publicly ask these stations if they are being discriminative, politically incorrect etc. Keep requesting and voting and keep buying and gifting the Trespassing EP. Also try and get your teen fans in on the work, they are many there in America, reach out to them, you need them and their influential 'demographic'.
