நடந்தது என்ன? @chinmayi : One of the things we knew is that once we stepped in to file a complaint with the CoP, new rumours would be created. I am facing that.

Early in 2011 when someone posted that she couldn't get a medical seat even though she had close to 100% marks, was not economically strong but was refused a medical seat because of her FC identity. Its not a legal offense to empathize with that. I empathised with her and that triggered the anti brahmin onslaught on me. They asked me questions like have I read the Manusmriti, something about Communism. They came as a pack. I still dont understand why.

The comment that a Brahmin girl like me should be raped on the road and cut to pieces came from those I have named in the police complaint. Now the thing is none of these "Tamil culture lovers" on Twitter had anything to say about that.

As for the headlines in Malai Malar, we didn't say about morphed pictures or "sex torture". I have said everything on record, which came in news channels. We had given one statement outside the CoPs office which was reported in the papers and channels. Only one. Malai Malar had taken the statement from the same words I said to everyone. We have requested for a retraction. NO OTHER NEWSPAPER has said anything about morphed pictures .

Also here is a link to the Long Tweet mom posted earlier this year. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/gmv45b

Yes we didn't want to initially take action because we thought they are just doing it for the fun of it. However when it crosses lines with them fabricating stories, it was not OK anymore. I needed to take time off for a couple of days, to take advice of lawyers and to go to the police. We needed the time to do this. We didn't get it so far. We were forced to make time for it now.

I don't believe in any caste/creed/community system. For all everyone says, I live in a house owned by a lovely Muslim family. Our landlords are chaste Muslims. Musicians have nothing to do with caste and creed. Music is the only religion for us.

The TN Fisherman hashtag was started, and I was asked to support it. The hashtag, in an attempt to keep it trending had a lot of obscenity and vulgarity against popular persons and politicians. For example it also had "Twinkle twinkle little star #saveTnfisherman". I found this absurd. I refused to support the hashtag. But I did post about the Killing fields video. And in another tweet, prayed that the Fishermen came back home safe.

I don't have to support a hashtag which contains obscenity to support a 'cause'. And anyway a hashtag is NOT a way to support any cause in its true sense. I don't know if even ONE of these guys who wrote/started a hashtag ever went on the field to do ANYTHING for the people who are really suffering. While as a musician, I have taken part in concerts to raise funds for the education of children suffering in those parts. Enough event organizers would vouch for that.

Also, God knows, as stated by my mother in the long tweet, they collected 80,000 or maybe more as stated by some of them, bank details were given openly. One account tweeted belonged to Rajan. God knows why money was collected. What happened to the money collected in the name of TN Fishermen. No one seems to ask them all this. However, it is an Issue if I dont support a hashtag. (!!)

Rajan said "Meenava meena kolra, meen pavamonno, avaala kolradhula thappe illa" and said it was said by me. A LOT of people believed that I said it. Now this became more and more serious as this became a Chinmayi is Anti Tamil/Anti Sri Lankan Tamil.

I think as someone whose roots are in Ramanathapuram, I really don't have to prove a point.

My mother is the grand daughter of Vidwan Raghava Iyengar and Moo Na Raghava Iyengar, Tamil scholars of repute. Maravan seemai valartha Tamizh pulavargal. Tamizh valartha kudumbam. Its interesting that I have to prove that I am a True Tamil to a group, which has some people that cannot even pronounce Zha or Ra properly. Or spell the right na, or Na when writing in Tamil script.

I did block a lot of people who tweeted to me, who sadly happened to be Tamil tweeters because they would unnecessarily tag Rajan and me just because it was fun. This sparked the "Chinmayi is anti Tamil tweeters" A lot of times, my mom used to block some people. I still tweet to a lot of Tamil Tweeters or Bloggers who have not said anything indecent on my TL.

I was also not for tagging or tweeting to anyone who spoke vulgarly about women either in the media or politics, just because it is cool. And they are under a veil of anonymity. It would look like I am supporting all that.

Now the reason for this post is also because of a legal advice. A cartoonist who works with Kumudham is spreading a story that I said TN Fishermen should be killed, because I am a vegetarian (!!) or something to that effect. They have no other go except create new stories. Mom and I knew that all this would happen.

Nothing is easy. Justice doesnt come easy.
