Many are asking why the charges range between 30th September and 3rd October when April was abducted on 1st October and Bridger was taken into custody on the 2nd October 2012.

The dates of the charges are deemed from midnight the day before the person was last seen alive to midnight on the day the body is discovered or as in this case when indications of her sad demise were detected.

EVRD/Cadaver dogs were first deployed in the case of little April Jones on 3rd October 2012.

The decision to arrest Mark Bridger for murder followed the detection of forensic evidence on 3rd October 2012 which was sent away for analysis and the results of those forensic tests were received by police overnight on 5th October 2012.

The CPS decision to charge Mark Bridger with April's murder came on 6th October 2012 based on the following:

'Prosecutors must be satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction against each suspect on each charge. They must consider what the defence case may be, and how it is likely to affect the prospects of conviction. A case which does not pass the evidential stage must not proceed, no matter how serious or sensitive it may be.'

RIP little April Jones. Hope so very much that you are returned to your family and friends soon and that justice will prevail.
