You guys wanna know who really writes the tabloid articles? I know! A friend of mine, and no this is not one of those a friend of a friend of my cousin's girlfriend's brother's best friends sister. A friend of mine is a vet, as in veterinarian not a soldier. One of his coworkers found a 'smart' way to make a little extra cash on the side. That's right, she's a vet and she freelance writes for a tabloid. She has no writing experience, or training. She is a vet.
And this is how it works. Every week she is sent a list of 'topics' that she can choose from. These topics are basically just a list of names. Tom
Cruise, Katie Holmes, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, the list goes on and these days Rob and Kristen are at the top of it. Each name has a number beside it. The number represents how many words the article should be.
She has to reply with which 'topic' she wants to write about and then she gets confirmation on whether or not to continue. It's a first come first served type of thing, so the earlier she checks her email the better.
Now, how does she get her info and inside sources? She literally goes online. She goes on twitter and searches the names, she goes on google. She sees what others are saying and puts a spin on it. It's that simple. It's all just regurgitated lies, innuendo and rumours. And when all else fails, she just makes it up. The mags know this and they don't care. She has a deadline, so that they can get images that they can twist to back up the 'story'.
It's really all that ridiculous. It actually makes me quite ashamed to be part of the human race, this is how people conduct themselves? I'm not necessarily blaming the 'writer', she just doing a job to make a few extra bucks on the side. I blame the magazines that not only hire people to do this, but instruct them and willingly and maliciously try to pass of lies as fact.
Please don't buy these magazines. Don't believe the lies they are trying to sell, and don't perpetuate the invasion of privacy that these magazines promote by buying paparazzi pictures. Stay away from it all, be the bigger person and score one for decency and truth.
