CMLL Anniversary Show Predictions:

Rey Cometa vs Puma King: No reason why this shouldn't be the best match of the show and if they deliver maybe the best match of the year. Hopefully the crowd is into it and adds lots of emotion. I have a checklist of 3 things I expect:

1. A Rey Cometa dive to nowhere. He always does this in big matches and some of the best mask/hair matches in history feature this kind of memorable moment.

2. Rey Cometa finally reversing things and throwing Puma King into the barricade! This spot has been a major part of their feud and the feud has been full of really smart moves/counters so I expect Puma to get what's coming to him tonight!

3. The finish will be a Casita. Who does it to whom is the question...

I'm hoping for Rey Cometa! The odds are against him and it really makes no sense for him to win but I refuse to jynx anything and think logically! I'm praying they are doing some wacky storyline on El Luchador where Puma King wants to escape the family name and create his own identity which will lead to a shocking conclusion! Fingers crossed for #porraReyCometa

Rush vs Terrible: I wouldn't mind at all if they made this a one fall match. I'm not saying these guys are bad... the opposite in fact. I'm expecting a great match with a really loud crowd. I think one fall would add more drama since nobody would be sitting there quietly waiting for a third fall whistle. Originally I was going to predict blood but after the Niebla/Volador "problem" I don't expect to see blood here. Hopefully there are no seconds and we get a clean finish. I'm sorta half worried Colombo will send Rush's father out there to be a part of the finish.:/ Let's hope not! I think Rush wins in about 15 minutes with a low blow after a ref bump.

As for the rest of the show it appears uneventful or predictable. Obviously Dragon Rojo and Ultimo Guerrero will fall apart in the semi-main. I expect Dragon Rojo to rip up Ultimo's mask and MAYBE Niebla Roja runs out for the save. Or Misticlon saves Ultimo to set up some weird parejas incriebles match? It makes no sense to turn Ultimo tecnico since he still needs to feud with Atlantis.

I expect the tercera to be really good and maybe the darkhorse candidate for match of the night if they are given enough time. Mexico should beat Japan. The opening two matches should be fine if everyone works hard and nobody has a bad night. Looking forward to perhaps the best show of the year!
