@FaeConTO The price depends on how many you think are coming versus how much you need to pay for the event to even have it so it, along with the date (longer run means more events and possibly more money for guests); the venue determines how big the event of course can be...timing is actually your easiest issue as you just pick a time when the building opens and when you want to shut down each day. Usually conventions last 6 hours a day to try to let all fans see the people there and attend events, but you could adjust it however you see fit depending on the number of days you want.

As for events:

Have to be autograph sessions with the cast; some guest stars would also be invited - ideally you'd want all main cast members of course but for guest I think you'd definitely have to have Paul (Vex), Emmanuelle (Evony), and Vincent (Lachlan) if you could get them...timing on which days they could be there would of course depend on their schedule. :)

Panels are a hit as well and depending on who you could get you could have a cast panel where fans get to ask questions, a writers panel where you can ask them questions - while it's the same as the cast panel really in concept it's different cause the writers have different view points from the actor on events maybe and could explain more why this was or wasn't put in because we all have questions about why certain things are or aren't done on the show...know I've got some, but also with writers you get more mythology talk where actors are talking from character stand points so to say. :)

Costume Contest could be fun; might be a large event so having a narrowed down field would make voting easier, like judge each solo character and pick the best Vex we'll say out the Vexs and so on with each character (winners would get a certificate saying "WINNER! (picture of character) Best (character name) Costume. Fae Con (year)" or something to that effect) then have those winners go in front of the fans to see who was best in con over all if wanted to go extra mile (be neat if you could figure out how to do the fan voting like the show did the Ash voting...different color tokens for each character). You'd have to have a way to prevent ballot bloating - maybe have an official over contest with different color markers and index cards and fans come by and make a colored circle on the card for who they want and drop it in a box/cylinder and then get marked (with a non character related color) showing they voted so can't vote again; contest voting in all area's be scheduled times so have time to pick a winner from sub categories then release fans to enjoy festivities and be able to catch panels and cast members and over all voting be between certain time so have time to count vote; the night before the big vote you could have sub winner pictures go up on the convention website so fans could have an idea of who they want already and color designated to them thus hopefully helping things go faster because again you want to spend time at other events not in line voting. Ha.

Be nice it you could have an official booth with merchandise like t-shirts, DVDS, photos (particularly that one of the whole main cast so fans could have it signed instead of individual photos which they could still get but be at actors' booths for those) or anything else Showcase would want to preview at the Con.

Everything really depends on your space of venue, who you can get there and what events will be happening as to how successful it'll be and doing this Twitter account is a good way of seeing if such an event is actually do-able; maybe once you have enough suggestions and a good idea of how the event actually would work (officials in place and all - you've seen which stars and crew would show up to see if panels are even do-able) you could do a mock website asking fans would they attend if this was the event and if you get a resounding "yes" then you could move into bookings and filling in the time/date/venue/price for sure. :) Will be interesting to see what all comes of this; Fan Expo is nice I'm sure but one day of Lost Girl stuff is not enough - fans need time to interact with cast members and see the panels they want and that's just hard to do when the group is only there for one day. Not to mention it's an expensive trip for one day if you don't already live in Canada. :( :)
