#NOLA Antique neighborhood maps now available for viewing online! The Historic New Orleans Collection recently finished cataloguing 70 hand-drawn and colored copies of late-18th and early-19th century New Orleans maps of the Marigny, Bayou St. John, Gentilly, Tremé, and the outlying areas of the French Quarter. Each map includes a description of its original purpose and documents the growth of the city beyond the original settlement in the Quarter. The maps are available to researchers in-person at THNOC’s Williams Research Center and a handful are available through our online catalogue (search for Hemecourt).
