Statement from #Glendale mayoral candidate Manuel Cruz on sales-tax initiative decision:
“As a longtime Glendale resident, I believe in our community and what Glendale voters decide in November.
I do believe, however, that the rollback of this sales-tax in Glendale will be devastating to core services that our community deserves and demands. Services such as public safety, libraries and parks will suffer tremendously if not kept in place.
In hard economic times such as these, I don’t feel it is fair for the taxpayers of Glendale to carry the brunt of the cost. Although I believe the sale-tax increase should stay in place, as Mayor, I would push for an earlier expiration date of the tax.”
