"a pause of hope"

Tiftinaz of Idlib has witnessed intense shelling and targeted air strikes over the past week. Thousands of people have fled the area no longer able to cope with the destruction of lives and sheer abuse to humanity. we spend our evenings here depending on open luck that a random shell will not land on our location, and each time we are lucky, even then someone else around us has paid the price of devastation. When a shell is launched by the regime from kilometres away it is heard loud and clear, we all pause and look at the floor counting the seconds, waiting for it to land shamefully hoping that we will hear it when it does. A sort of guarantee that we have not been hit.

4 shells were launched and landed nearby as I wrote this post alone. Where is humanity?
