@rosie your poetry blogs inspired me last night as I watched my 9 year old as she slept. thought i'd give it a try; it helped. thanks
Such peace is on her face;
It softens the angry monster that grips my heart and steals my soul.
Such peace is on her face;
As I lie here watching her every movement, listening to every breath her body takes.
Such peace is on her face;
I project all my will on her so the thunderstorms in her head will pass like a summer monsoon.
Such peace is on her face;
We don't know why we walk this path together, but together it will be walked.
Such peace is on her face;
And if I looked I would see only fear in my eyes, but I have to look past that to the beauty in hers.
The storm has passed; sleep will come. For all of us. Peace will come too. For all of us. The new day will bring doctors and needles and more medicine.
But for now she sleeps. Finally.
Damn epilepsy.
