Wow. You guys are really hard on this "Jason Malachi." The man happens to be blessed with a voice identical to MJ and he chooses to share his gift with the world. I think he's one Hell of A guy as well

Hmm. I wouldn’t say he’s been “blessed with a voice identical to MJ” at all (not even close- if he has a 4 octave range and is trained by Seth Riggs and was born in Gary Indiana, I might say ‘like MJ’,), but I also wouldn’t say “this guy has to go”.

I does get annoying for fansite moderators to constantly say “no the new track on YT is NOT Michael Jackson, it’s Jason Malachi”, and therefore it can be annoying to fans as well.

Personally, if I am being honest, the music sounds pretty generic to me. Jason (or you), I believe, has a decent voice under there somewhere. I’d like to hear the real Jason Malachi, not an impersonato.

I was always that one guy who was allegedly "obsessed" with Michael Jackson. All through middle and high school, I sang and danced like him. I studied every gesture, every dance move, every vocal, every grunt...hell, even every "Hee-Hee." I caught a lot of flack for it, but I didn't care. I'm 28 years old now, and let's just say that Michael Jackson is still a HUGE part of my life.

I agree with Jam2008. If the best excuse people can give for not supporting Obama is because he refuses to wear a pin, or not putting his hand over his heart, then that's very, very sad. I have my share of influences just like the next guy. James Brown was not a "singer" really, but his way of shouting was very expressive. I also enjoy Mr. Jackie Wilson, the Soulful Sounds of Boyz II Men, (they're awesome) and the falsetto of Smokey Robinson. Smokey is almost in his 70s, and he still sounds exactly the same as he did when he was 19. I pray that I can maintain my gift for that long.

Obama is what we need as a president. What makes me sad is that I know there are lots of people out there who will not vote for Barack Obama simply because of the color of his skin.

Michael’s voice

Has a thread been started on this before? I just love Michael’s voice. The way he sings and talks. It’s so unique.

When he was little, his voice rivaled angels. His singing is so crisp and clear. He hits the highest, and most difficult notes effortlessly.

This is one reason why I’m so obsessed with him. His voice is so calming, and reassuring. :Hearts: :Hearts: :Hearts:

Michael Jackson's voice (and overall style) has influenced legions of fans.

I was only a 1 year-old baby in diapers when the Bad album came out. For those of you members who were old enough to remember, what was your reaction to Michael’s new look at the time?

He didn’t look bad, but he changed A LOT from Thriller to Bad. All of a sudden, he looked like a different person in 1997. What kinds of things were people saying? Did they think he was attempting to hide his ethnicity?

What were your thoughts after seeing Michael’s transformation?

Of course, everyone's explanation to me was that he bleached his skin. That's what everyone was saying until Michael finally told Oprah about the vitiligo in 1993. But it was a shock. I ain't gonna lie.

I have the same reaction, it was a big shock, I really dislike his new style since Bad, I don’t like his new face, his new look, the Bad tour, I think it was a huge mistake to leave the jacksons, specially during the tour, his music is not the same, more aggressive without great melody imo except liberian girl and another part of me (two songs from the thriller area), I find very poor album, style and tour, for me he don’’t like anymore the Michael Jackson from Thrillr, for me it was a huge mistake and the beginning of huge problem for him (surgery, rumor etc…)

it’s a great song i’ve always loved this song, emotions on this song reflect innocence and mellowness i think.

btw its good to know that this song will be taken down from this thread, i hope the original poster of the song does too because people could download this on mp3 players and other sites, this could dramatically reduce the potential of this song o become a smash hit in the charts. i’ve seenit happen to other artises too.

this song deserves a chance.

This isn’t Michael’s new song. But it’s the first new song we’ve heard from him in 5 years. So just lighten up and be happy that he’s even making music in the first place, cos if my fans were as moany as some of you lot, I sure as hell wouldn’t bother! (not that I have any fans, LOL).

Leaks are a mixed blessing. They generate a buzz, but it happens when you least expect it and it's hard to locate the source who leaked it.

For example, "Mamacita" was not intended to be leaked. But someone leaked it and it generated a lot of publicity, and people thought it was a new Michael Jackson song, and it wasn't.

It just goes to show that you can't trust anyone in the record buisness, really. However, this song was most likely leaked on purpose

I recently deactivated my facebook account. It was not very useful. I'm also a lot more likely to respond on this site than I am on myspace because I get loads and loads of hate mail. People on Maximum Jackson are much more friendly

Although I did delete my facebook account, a fan started a group for me. Not only does it provide updates for my career, but it provides news for Michael Jackson as well. Here is the link..

MJ’s Image During “Dangerous”

Hey Guys. My Girlfriend pointed out that Michael’s face looked slightly different during the Dangerous era then it did during the Bad era. At first I was ready to politely disagree, but after really looking, I noticed that it’s true. However, neither one of us can put our finger on exactly what was different about his face during the Dangerous era. His skin was lighter, but his face obviously went through a change, too. Does anyone know what changed on his face during 1990 or 1991?

We shouldn’t go much further into discussion about Michael’s health here, but I will say that I think it’s his hair and makeup. Plus he was older. That’s it. He used eyeliner in a way that made his eyes look smaller, and he had far more hair and costumes I guess. Nothing much that I can see changed at all.

He was paler, longer less curly hair, thicker eyebrows, thinner.

Well, it’s different. NO other artist has ever physically changed the way that Michael has. His look evolved and changed each time he released an album. It’s very fascinating.

I can tell I’m in “Dangerous” territory here. I thought I could get an opinion from other fans. This thread is not intended to insult Michael or pry into her personal life. He obviously changed his face numerous times, and I think it’s fascinating and intriguing.

Duh, I care about Michael. I just asked a question. I’ve asked many questions on this forum. Isn't that the point of this site? To discuss our favorite singer?

Yes, that's exactly what this discussion forum is for.

Michael's face DID undergo a slight change. Like Marni said, his eyes all of a sudden began to look smaller, which is the main difference I see, disregarding the lighter skin.

Don't feel bad about asking that question. I've often thought of the same thing myself. He looked different during Dangerous, but I'm sure many people probably didn't notice. However, There is a facial difference between 1987 Michael and the 1993 Michael.

"Satisfy You" by Bryan Loren

"Who's Right, Who's Wrong" by Kenny Loggins

"Save me" by Dave Mason (Although this song is more of a duet)

That is all I can think of for right now

I think I got to the bottom of it- unfortunately the producer doesn’t have the track on his myspace anymore.

I did a basic search for “Jason Malachi’s producer” after some info Damien gave me and came up with this infor from KOP discussion- I should have remembered this from MJNO.

[[[the producer of “Mamacita” has revealed his name…

[[[it’s Tony Kurtis

[[[go here- Tony Kurtis - MySpace - the man who produced “Mamacita”

Jason Malachi posted on the MJJ Community forum and cleared things up.

[[[I just got wind of what is going on. Those vocals are mine. Someone managed to leak a snippet of a track we did last year called "I can make it." It's a Tony Kurtis song that features me, Dru Hill, Ruff Endz, and a few other artists, I don't know who leaked it. I'm sorry. But if you want to hear the song in its entirety, go here

[[[Sorry about the confusion. In the record buisness, people sneak and leak things all the time. You really can't trust anybody.

Thread: The Big Michael Jackson 'Grit' Discussion
Post: #59
User: Undiscovered

^^Good point. Singing with a harder edge on stage is much easier than singing smooth. To sing a ballad, you have to stay in the key and maintain the perfect pitch. (It's hard to do that while you're dancing and singing at the same time, especially for a continual duration of songs.)

Songs like "Jam" don't require much effort. He can sing that gritty style while dancing on stage and still sound similar to the album. He may sound out of breath singing a song like that live, but the husky gritty style will still be present. But songs like "The Way you make me feel" require maintaining a certain pitch. And it's very hard to dance frequently and maintain singing in such a high key. I've noticed that songs like "Beat it" and "The way you make me feel" are ALWAYS sung in low keys when he performs live. This is especially true on the 30th Anniversary Special.

Looking back, I firmly believe that the "grit" was a tool Michael developed to survive his voice change. We all know that when a male singer's voice changes, it normally brings the death of their career. (Look at Tevin Campbell.) But Michael was very scientific about it, and used it to create his signature sound. When you hear hiccups, grunting, or "Hee Hee," you automatically know it's Michael Jackson.

Dangerous is off the Hook!!! This is the album that proved that Michael didn't NEED Quincy Jones to create excellent, adventurous music. Without major help from anyone else, Michael hit us with songs like "Will you be there" and "Who is it." In my opinion, he expanded the song formulas used in Dangerous for future albums like HIStory and Invincible.

I Stick with what i said earlier about HIStory. That second disk with all the new songs on there makes you REALLY think about Mj and what his music means to his fans and the world. Dangerous with Will You Be There seems to put that to a real question, and to answer it….. Yes we will ALWAYS be there for Michael No matter what.

HIStory blew me away with songs like  Little Susie, Smile and Scream. Made you sit back and take a hard look at what Michael has given the fans.

Well the rap was the bridge - take out the rapping and put on some fierce Michael vocals on top of the standout bassline in the bridge as opposed to a mellow ballad-esque one like that in Heartbreaker (which was a bit week imo).

Thread: Bad Before Thriller?
Post: #28
User: Undiscovered

If you take away the moonwalking, tours, videos and focused on the music alone, I'd say Bad is the better album musically.

For instance, "Man in the mirror" has a lot more depth than "The Girl is mine" which is innocent bubblegum pop. On Bad, Michael ventured into harder rock (Dirty Diana) and gospel territory (Man in the mirror) The songs on Bad are generally more mature than some of the cuts on Thriller, and Michael grew a lot as a songwriter during this period.
