"Republicans have launched a series of false -- and desperate -- attacks on the President, and I need your help to get his back.
A few weeks ago, news broke about Mitt Romney and outsourcing. As CEO and owner of a corporate buyout firm until August 2001, Romney personally profited from investing in companies that the Washington Post called "pioneers" in shipping American jobs to countries like China and India.
Republicans know how damaging these facts are to Mitt Romney, so they have launched a campaign to discredit President Obama's consistent record of fighting for American jobs.

Romney's bogus claim is that the Recovery Act, which was responsible for as many as 3.5 million jobs (yes, right here in America) at its peak, actually created jobs in other countries. It's not true and we can't let that stand. Here are the facts:
-- President Obama's investments in clean energy supported 224,500 jobs through the end of 2010. The Energy Department program that Republicans are attacking directly supported jobs at projects in America, not overseas. It has supported an average of up to 75,000 clean energy jobs a year since 2009.
-- Support from this program went to projects in America that began generating energy or began construction by the end of 2011. The grants were not made to create jobs overseas.
-- The program, like others President Obama has invested in, helped boost domestic manufacturing by helping to build a stronger market for renewable energy here in America.
-- President Obama has always encouraged insourcing, and fought to bring jobs back to our shores and secure a level playing field for American workers. The President's jobs plan -- which is being blocked by Mitt Romney's allies -- would close corporate loopholes and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, and instead reward companies that create more jobs here at home so we can grow our economy for everyone.
