Today is TOM HANKS' Birthday.
As many of you already know, FORREST GUMP is my favorite film of all time. I could watch it a thousand times again and again and will never get bored.
I watched it for the first time back in 2001 when I was a senior in High School.
I was on this spelunking/caving trip and my teacher played the film in our bus/RV. It was VHS style and the TV screen was kinda small so I had to turn up the volume to know what's going on in the story.
And just like that, I got hooked!
What I've always liked about the character is that he's just a very genuine person. Forrest Gump is my fictional hero :) an example of a good man who finishes.
Not last nor first.. Just finishes.
and he left one heckuva mark on life.
He only loved one woman and one woman only. And tho that woman, Jenny, sadly treated Forrest like crap, Forrest never stopped loving her.
Forrest believed in 3 things: God, his mamma, and Jenny.
All his beliefs and everything else that came along were filtered through those 3.
I met TOM HANKS last year at the press conference for his film 'Larry Crowne', I told him that I was a huge fan of FORREST GUMP and Hanks commented on my Superman/Clark Kent outfit and it was just one of the best days ever. The movie geek in me was happy :) It's awesome!
