An old controversy of mine inevitably came up. I am going to say a few words on it. They're ALL I'll say on it today.

Yes, I've said privileged, pathetic, ignorant things in the past. I am sorry for them, and have gotten more sorry the more I've learned about gender issues in gaming, and I feel terrible for having contributed negatively to the issue before.

Since I grew more of a brain, I've done my best to be a more welcoming, reasonable, and non-alienating voice in games. I admit I don't always get it right, but I've done my level best. That doesn't make it magically alright, and that doesn't mean anybody freshly discovering the time I called somebody a "feminazi slut" should be anything but concerned about me at the *very* least. I said what I said and have taken my lumps for it in the year-and-a-half since it was said. I can't talk about equality without it being brought up, and I can't call out harassment without being called a hypocrite for it. That's always going to happen and I'm always going to have to take that on the chin, because I won't stop talking about equality and I won't stop calling out harassment. I said my dumb things and accept that it will always come up now.

I am not concerned with changing minds about me, because you can't do that when someone has decided who you are. I'm not gonna go, "wah wah, I'm not a misogynist wah" because I understand anybody who thinks I am. But I'm sorry, and I'll always use the HUGE amount of luck I have in still being here and still producing content to try and make the industry nicer for everybody.

As I said, that's all I am saying on it. I'm not looking for fights or debates. I am sorry once more to any I may have genuinely offended during my more reckless years of writing. I will now go back to just trying to be less of a dick in my work. Thank you.
