There was no intro for the interview, just an explanation that Sauli arrived in Helsinki late May, and will return LA some time later this summer. (London or Europe was not mentioned.)

Life in LA

Sauli was talking about his life in LA. He has made a lot of new friends also amongst Finns that are living and working in LA. It has taken some time to meet new people and befriend them. He was surprised how many Finns are living in LA. In general the American greeting culture is easier than Finnish – you automatically say ‘hi’ to people you meet, even when you go out jogging in the morning. That friendly attitude towards everyone is something Sauli would like to promote in Finland as well.

“It's up to you to meet new people in a new place. Americans, in general, seem to be easier to make a connection with than Finns. But it always is up to you – you cannot just stay at home on your couch and wait for someone to come around – you have to go out and meet people. Otherwise nothing will happen.”

Modeling

Host: Sauli you're also working in LA. You are about to be on cover of a fashion magazine + 7 pages story. Tell me more about that

“I'm not sure if it's cover yet but there will be 7 pages of photos in Fault. The pictures have been taken earlier with friends.”

H: Was this offered to you as Adam’s boyfriend? Or how did it happen?

“No. No. This was something I did completely by myself. We took the pictures with friends and then decided to promote them and offer them to magazines. Just to see what happens. I had my own publicist doing promotion. “

H: Other modeling plans? I know you’ve been to fashion shows – catwalk maybe?

“No. I couldn't do catwalk since I'm the size of a hobbit!” (Lots of laughter)

Tutka

H: You’ve been doing some work while being in Finland?

“Yes. I’ve been working for Ilta-Sanomat (Finnish tabloid). We will start Tutka Roadshow in Finland. Me and Katri did similar thing already when she was in the US, and now we are filming Tutka Roadshow in Finland. We’ll tape the episodes now and broadcast them later.”

Career plans

H: I cannot picture you as a ‘housewife’. What do you do in LA?

(Laughs) “No, you couldn't make me a housewife even if you tried. I would get so bored! I have no clear career plans yet, modeling in the future – perhaps. We’ll see. I haven't really been in LA that long that I would have planned for a career."

Relationship

H: I’d like to ask something about your relationship

“It will be a very quiet interview if you’ll ask anything about my relationship.”

H: Well, let me just ask if you get photographed a lot in LA?

"Well, sometimes yes depending on where we are.”
