Telex apparently sent by the @Guardian's Cairo correspondent to the London newsroom in 1981, just before Sadat was assassinated:
"Sadat reviewing usual military parade, might make caption. I'll be at the Gezira Club if needed."
We all make mistakes. Don't know what's more striking, the unfortunate timing or the fact that Guardian correspondents used to be able to afford membership of the Gezira Club...
