==========================================================
STRICT EMBARGO: 7 am EDT / 12 pm BST -- Tue 29 May, 2012
==========================================================

2012 Bilderberg Conference:

The 2012 Bilderberg Conference is to be held at the Westfields Marriott
Hotel, Chantilly, Virginia – May 31st to June 3rd. The annual three-day,
off-the-record event, is a welcome opportunity for business leaders,
experts and politicians to discuss topics of current concern, especially
in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy.

The conference agenda is agreed upon in advance by the Steering Committee,
but is subject to change at any point prior to, or during, the conference.
Topics on this year’s agenda include, but are not limited to:

• Greece, Eurobonds & the future of the Euro
• Population: the food crisis
• Social networking & cyber security [DARPA session]
• Iran: timescales and outcomes
• Biometrics: frontier issues
• US election challenges & opportunities

The special extended session on ‘Social networking & cyber security’ will
be led by a consultative team from DARPA, and feature input from senior
executives of major New Media corporations, including Facebook, Google,
LinkedIn, Microsoft and Amazon.

2012 sees Bilderberg return with a new Chairman, Henri de Castries, the
Chairman and CEO of the AXA group of companies. Of his new role, M. de
Castries states: “I am honored to be called upon to lead Bilderberg at
this challenging time, and welcome the chance to maintain the group’s role
at the forefront of International Relations and world affairs.”

Bilderberg takes its name from the hotel in Holland, where the first
meeting took place in May 1954. It was felt that regular, off-the-record
discussions between leading citizens from both sides of the Atlantic would
help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends
affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period.

Journalists interested in attending the event should be aware: only
selected members of the press are permitted inside the conference venue
for the duration of the event (and only to certain sessions), and no
official statement concerning the conference will be made until after the
event although some further information and details of strictly limited
press accreditation can be obtained from: Megan Hiller
(m.hiller@kellenhaan.com / +347-803-9138).
