This is my first twitlonger, but I felt it was necessary in order to say what I need to say. This is half personal & half band related but the main idea of all of this is I miss you.
Around this time last summer we were about to embark on the craziest summer of our lives. 4 tours, internationally, new single with Nick, etc. This summer is going to be a little bit different and that kinda bums me out. It's time for us to make a new album so we're putting all of our focus into that. And yes, that's exciting & I love making new music but we're a band all about connections. I love meeting fans & hanging out at concerts, meeting new people. I'm just gonna be missing that this summer. We have a handful of shows in June & August, but for this most part, we will have our heads down trying to make the best album we can possibly make for all of you. This album is going to be for you & you might have heard that before but it ALL HONESTY, we wouldn't be the people we are if it weren't for the experiences YOU have given US. You've given so much to us & we just want to return the favor.
My biggest fear (bigger than spiders, billboards, serial killers, heights, etc) is being forgotten. I just don't wanna go away for a little to make an album & pop back up find that no one's there. Now, I know you. I probably met you. I've probably met a family member or friend of yours. So we personally know our fanbase isn't to type to leave us behind, but I'm just being honest with you. That's what runs through my mind 90% of my day.
So all of you have nothing to worry about, but we will be a little quieter than you're used to for a couple of months as we try to make this next collection of songs. And you can still come to us & talk to us about whatever you need to/ want to. But I just want you to have a head's up.
On a happier note, the band itself is kicking ass right now. Yes, I said ass.
We have so many ideas of how we want to celebrate this next release. Music, release parties across the country, fancy red carpet events, documentaries, major tours, headlining touring, ALL OF IT! Just be ready to be in this thing for the long haul.
I'm sorry, you made us fall in love with you & now you're stuck with us for life. Thank you for everything. We will do our best to return the favor.
