@elizmmartin @spacerog @elinormills Yet, not all off them, at differing rates which defy coincidence. My thinking is that they either came from the same place via different methods or information resources - or that they came from entirely unrelated sources.

The reason I keep going back to the helpdesk reset idea for the recurring identical passwords is my experience investigating America Online - they had to modify their old customer records & information system (CRIS) so that employees could no longer see billing or password info because misconduct was so rampant.

I've seen the same in other companies. I'm not alleging that Twitter is at fault, but neither do I discount the possibility of insider involvement.

In any event, if this was the fruit of a single breach to a single information resource via a single method, I'll be rather surprised.
