[TRANS] (per request) http://bit.ly/KTPjsG -- What has Yuri gained from ‘Fashion King’?

It’s not an easy job switching between the roles of a singer and actress. There was another person who has thrown her hat into the ring is SNSD’s Yuri.

In the SBS Monday/Tuesday drama, ‘Fashion King’, Yuri plays the role of Choi Anna, who appears arrogant on the outside, but carries wounds on the inside. She has been receiving praise for portraying the character perfectly.

Yuri’s role in ‘Fashion King’ garnered much attention before the first broadcast. This was because it was Yuri’s first time acting, and because the KBS 2TV drama, ‘Love Rain’, which starred her fellow group member, Yoona, aired during the same time slot.

When we opened the lid, Yuri’s acting exceeded expectations, appearing stable. Despite it being her first time acting, Yuri’s natural facial expressions and pronunciation have been positive aspects. It’s a good first step as an ‘acting-dol’ (acting-idol).

Also, this has become an excellent opportunity to rediscover Yuri’s innocent face, which was covered by her stage mic. After every episode of ‘Fashion King’, the outfits Yuri wore, as well as her body, has become a hot topic amongst netizens.

Yuri’s acting, going between ferocity and mournfulness, has been showing Choi Anna’s complicated, subtle emotions well. Because of this, even when Choi Anna is cruel towards Lee Gayoung, she has gained responses like, ‘a villain you can’t hate’.

Viewers’ various comments: “I wish they would increase Yuri’s screen time”, “I watch Fashion King because of Yuri”, “I wasn’t aware, but Yuri is good at acting, and she has a nice body”, “It seems like Yuri will succeed as an acting-dol”, “Her character is a bit depressing; I hope she gets a brighter role next time”, “She’s a villain, but I can’t badmouth her”, and, “The more I see her, the more I feel sorry for Choi Anna.”
