Hello again!! Los Angeles is alive and well and the temperature is currently +30! whew!! Not complaining, but enjoying! ;)
I remember this time last year, I was attacked by a horrible allergy to something and my eyes were red and I felt miserable for about a month. Well, the allergy has struck again! My eyes are red and my throat is really sore. I never suffered from any allergies in Finland, but maybe the flora and the climate here are that different. I've never had hay fever, so maybe this is palm fever. hah! Allergy medicines and eye drops have done nothing. The best advice I received was from a salesperson at the local health food shop – make a juice with lemon, ginger, green apple, celery and cayenne pepper. Well, I took the advice and have been running the juicer. I have to say, after two days, this actually helped. Strange, but true! Of course it's always better to turn to natural products than pills that may contain other things that are harmful. I also believe that if you're constantly taking medication to cure symptoms, your body will get used to it and you'll have to continue taking the medication forever after that. Also, it's better to get your vitamins from fresh fruit and vegetables than from pills. It's funny how the older you get, the more you think about what you put in your mouth. I feel like I've become a superfood nut!! haha!! You have to pig out and party every once in a while though, just so life doesn't get too boring!! I'm sure this isn't too difficult for ayone... :)
I may skip the health drinks this weekend, because I'm going to Anaheim for an evening with Finns. Barbecue, chilling out, Finnish games and karaoke. :) It's lovely having so many Finnish friends here in LA these days. We all need our own tribe to hang out with. :) I feel like our Finnish group keeps growing weekly. Yesterday, I met a couple of new Finns while I was out jogging. A year ago, I didn't know any Finns living here, and now I have about twenty good friends.
