An open letter from a Bahraini Human Right activist to the Secretary General of the United Nations, International Human Rights organisations and activists regarding our fear and concern for HRD Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja- Bahrain
To His Excellency Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon,
To all international human rights organisations,
To all Human Rights fender and every person with conscience,
Greetings,
I Hussain Jawad a Bahraini human rights activist who was a student of Human Rights activist Mr, Abdulhadi al-Khawaja.
I am writing this letter with all the pain and regret after that there was no other way to convey the message of Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja's struggle for freedom. As i write this appeal, Al-Khawaja is on his 20th day of hunger strike under the title "Freedom or death" after being sentenced for life of imprisonment in a case opinion and freedom of expression. He was accused of false charges and fabricated cases in the military court, and subjected to severe torture which had a very bad impact on his health, as he had surgeries in his jaw and parts of his face after his detention.
Mr, Al-Khawaja struggles for freedom and change in Bahrain wit all legitimate means. Mr. Al-Khawaja, is a global character known for his moderation, he was arrested several times because of his demand for freedom, justice and human dignity, which the citizens in Bahrain lack.
I urge you and also ask you to take an action and intervene to demand Al-Khawaja's release immediately and unconditionally and that, fearing for his life, which is now in danger of evidence for health setbacks that got him losing so much weight, and weakened him so clearly, as his lawyer reported.
Mr. Al-Khawaja decided to engage in an open hunger strike to make the international community and the Bahraini authorities choose between his death for human rights, or his release. This was the only way to deliver his message from behind bars of Bahraini prisons to the world. He is teaching the generations the road toward freedom and is insisting on his own hardship and bitterness for democracy. Save him.

والى كل مدافع عن حقوق الانسان في العالم،
تحية طيبة و بعد..
أنا حسين جواد مدافع بحريني عن حقوق الانسان وأحد من تعلم حقوق الانسان وأساسياته على يد الاستاذ عبدالهادي الخواجة. أكتب لكم هذه الرسالة بكل ألم وأسف بعد أن ضاقت بنا السبل لإيصال مظلومية المناضل والحقوقي العالمي عبدالهادي الخواجة الذي يضرب عن الطعام ويدخل في يومه العشرين وقت كتابة هذه المناشدة.
أضرب الاستاذ الخواجة تحت عنوان "الحرية أو الموت" بعد أن حُكم ٢٥عاما في قضية يشهد العالم بأنها قضية حرية رأي وتعبير واتهم بتهم باطلة وملفقة زوراً وبهتاناً في المحكمة العسكرية، وتعرض للتعذيب الشديد الذي تم على أثره عمل عمليات جراحية في فكه وأقسام من وجهه و ذلك بسبب نشاطه المشهود بسلميته ومطالبته بالتغيير ودفاعه عن حقوق الانسان بشتى الوسائل المشروعة.
الاستاذ الخواجة شخصية عالمية مشهود لها بالاعتدال، اعتقل مرات عديدة بسبب مطالبته بالحرية والعدالة والكرامة الانسانية التي يفتقدها المواطن في البحرين.
نطالبكم ونناشدكم بالتدخل العاجل لمطالبة السلطات البحرينية بإطلاق سراحه فوراً ومن دون قيدٍ أو شرط وذلك خوفا على حياته التي باتت في خطر بدليل الإنتكاسات الصحية التي حصلت له من خسارة الوزن وعلامات الارهاق والضعف التي بدت واضحة عليه حسب كلام محاميه.
الاستاذ الخواجة قرر الدخول في إضراب مفتوح عن الطعام مخيراًً المجتمع الدولي والسلطات البحرينية بين الموت في سبيل تحقيق مبادئ حقوق الانسان العادلة أو إطلاق سراحه، وفي نظري ذلك هو السبيل الوحيد لإيصال رسالته من السجن للعالم معلما الاجيال الطريق الى الحرية و متمسكاً بآلام ومرارة حتمية الوصول الى الديمقراطية.
