Deer and Oscars

What a wonderful morning!! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and indoors, the juicer is running. :) I haven't gone a day without homemade juice, which has very nearly reached the status of coffee substitute. I still think it's the best invention EVER!! :)

The weather in LA is so hot today that I may end up spending the day lying by the pool. Whew!! How do you go for a run when you're frying just staying put? I know I shouldn't complain, but a little north wind over here please!! ;)

Yesterday, I went for a run on the Hollywood Hills and ran into two deer. I almost had a heart attack, I was so startled. Of course deer don't hurt people, but they were so big, I could have done with smaller four-legged friends. :) You never know around here what you're going to run into. There have been raccoons, opossums, coyotes, skunks, snakes, spiders, lizards, skateboarding bulldogs and now deer. Oh and last week, I ran into some Finns. Irina Björklund and Peter Franzen. :)

The Oscars are held this Sunday at the Kodak Theatre. All of Hollywood Boulevard has been closed for five days now in preparation for the festivities, which have caused quite a lot of traffic in the city. I'll be watching the gala as well, but not from my couch at home. ;)
