Taro Yamamoto, Japanese actor claimed "Cancel the East Japan Women Ekiden Relay event" - The sponsor responded it's rude

Not only Japanese entertainment business but also Japan Athletic Association consider Anti-nuke Japanese actor Taro Yamamoto as enemy.

On November 5, Yamamoto claimed that he wanted the sponsor of East Japan Ekiden Relay to cancel the event during the TV program aired by BS Japan. Due to the race corse set in Fukushima City, he disparaged the event as only for the false publicity to show Fukushima as revived place and showed his concern about the athletes possible radiation exposure, as the majority of them are teenagers, so their cell division is very active.

The event sponsor North East Japan Athletic Association Chair Nobuaki Yasuda was very disturbed by his statement.
"We measure radiation every week and the result indicates there would be no problem for the race. As it's not full marathon, running distance is limited. We would like to liven up the event as the symbol of revival Fukushima, his statement shall cause harmful rumor. It is very insensitive toward Fukushima people."

反原発派の俳優・山本太郎が芸能界のみならず陸上界を敵に回した。

11月5日放送の『勝間和代♯デキビジ』（BSジャパン）に出演した山本は、「（11月13日開催の）東日本女子駅伝を中止に追い込みたい」と発言。福島市内にコースが設定され、出場選手が中高生中心である同大会を、「『復興しましたよ』ってアピールのためだけの行事」とこき下ろし、「細胞分裂が活発な若い女の子たち」が被曝する可能性に懸念を示した。

こうした発言に困惑を隠せないのが、大会を主催する東北陸上競技協会の理事長・安田信昭氏。

「放射線量も毎週計測して、大丈夫だという判断になっています。駅伝なので走る時間も限られている。復興の象徴として盛り上げようとしているのに、この発言は風評被害になりますよ。福島県民に対して失礼なんじゃないか」
