Let me clear this up. I miscommunicated in an earlier tweet about Lisa Simeone, the freelance host of NPR's "World of Opera." She came under criticism from some this week because she is politically active in a group involved in the Occupy D.C. movement. NPR sent out a directive telling its stations not to talk to the press about Simeone's situation, and to direct all inquiries to NPR's media relations department. "We're in conversations with WDAV about how they intend to handle this. We of course take this issue very seriously," NPR said. WDAV is the producer of "World of Opera."

Meanwhile, Simeone said she was fired from her freelance gig on "Soundprint," a different NPR show.

As of now, we don't know about her status as host of "World of Opera."
