@TriadCW Gossip Girl is my favorite show! I took a lot of time to write this. I hope you will take the time to read it.

First and foremost, I would like to tell you that I love Gossip Girl. I am a full time college student, I work part time, and I do volunteer work for my degree as well. I am very busy, and sometimes I get consumed by my work, so it is great to sit back and watch my guilty pleasure and let my brain relax. Thank you for writing and producing this show.

The review I am about to give you is a mixed bag, as it is both positive and negative. For the negative potions of my review, I am speaking honestly and have no intention of being rude. I decided to write this review because I was on a celeb gossip website yesterday, killing time and allowing my brain to relax. There was an article stating that Gossip Girl has terrible ratings and has lost half it's audience. Then I scrolled down a looked at the comments for this article. They mainly consisted of “GG sucks because there is no Chair!” “Dair is ruining Gossip Girl, Chair for the win!” “Chair for the win! We want Baby Bass!” Then there were 2 or 3 comments that said “Dare2Dair.”

First of all, I laughed so hard when I read these. Those things must make you laugh too.

Speaking very honestly, I am inclined to agree with your “Chair” fans. Not because I believe “Dair” has ruined the show, simply because I care what happens between Chuck and Blair. I could care less what happens between Dan and Blair. (I have no intention to be rude. I am just speaking honestly).

Allow me to explain this further:

I have been watching Gossip Girl since season one and certain relationships and friendships have been cultivated. The 5 main characters that are left are Chuck, Blair, Serena, Dan, and Nate. From season one until the midpoint of season 4, I have watched these relationships being cultivated.

1. Chuck and Blair- Core Relationship- STRONGEST
2. Dan and Serena- Core Relationship- Strong
3. Nate and Serena- Core Relationship- Not as strong as Dan and Serena
4. Serena and Blair- Core Friendship
5. Nate and Chuck- Core Friendship
6. Nate and Dan- Core Friendship
7. Rufus and Lily- Core Relationship.

On the sidelines, I have seen:

1. Nate and Blair- That ended in season 2
2. Chuck and Dan- Friends and Enemies- Sprinklings
3. Blair and Dan- Friends and Enemies- Sprinklings
4. Chuck and Serena- Brother/Sister

I have left out Jenny and Vanessa. Since they are no longer on the show, I did not feel the need to add them.

In the middle of season 4, until now, things have changed and I am sorry to say it has not been for the better. With no intention of being rude, That is why your show is failing. The original relationships that have been cultivated are no longer visible and are being replaced by things that the audience, who have been watching since season one, could care less about.

1. I don't even remember what happened with Nate in second half of season 4. Which means, I didn't care enough at time to pay attention.
2. Serena spent a lot of her time with her teacher? I don't care
3. Chuck spent some time with some girl. (I think Nate was with that girl too). Then he was spiraling out of on control.

So far with those stories- You have isolated three of the main characters and put them into story lines that I was not really interested in.

The most bizarre thing you have done is this Dan and Blair thing. At first it was fine. Dan and Blair have been a sidelines thing. Their scenes together are cute. Then, it became like a broken record. Dan and Blair, Dan and Blair, and Dan and Blair. It feels like you are trying to force me to take this relationship seriously. Yes, I care about Dan and Blair individually, but as a couple or a core relationship or friendship, I just don't buy it. It feels contrived. Dan and Serena have been the core relationship since season one. Now, I am expected to buy (in Season 5), that Dan is magically in love with Blair and has always wanted Blair? That is a stretch that makes zero sense to me.

And from Blair's side, Serena has been her best friend since season one. Now Blair is turning to Dan as her new best friend? Another stretch that I just don't buy. This whole thing, just really leaves me confused. I just feel like I am being forced to care about Dan and Blair. I am being forced to NOT care about the core relationships that have been cultivated since season one.

That is why you have lost your audience. Simply stated: They just don't care.

Once again. My intention is not to be rude. I am just trying to politely give you negative feedback.

Now it is time for some positive feedback.

In Season 5, so far, I have seen Chuck, Nate, and Serena have a story line together. That is good because you are starting to recapture some of the core and sidelines relationships that we all originally fell in love with.

Blair is Pregnant. I am assuming this is Chuck's baby. I am seeing that in the near future we will have more of this core relationship.

Dan and Chuck- This has always been a sidelines relationship- Nice to see it reemerge. Please do not take it so far that it become unbelievable.

I really love your show and want to continue watching it. Please give me something to care about.

Thank you.
