@MikeValenti971 from a UofM blog:

The Michigan Athletic Department got word that a news story will break before the season starts naming Michigan and Oregon as schools with questionable recruiting practices when pursuing Terrelle Pryor. The nature of the ‘practices’ involves promises made and things that Michigan coaches would be willing to overlook if he were to come to U-M.

The word is that folks associated with Michigan assured Terrelle that his teammate from high school would be given an athletic scholarship to Michigan (no biggie) and that his mentor ‘businessman’ Ted Sarniak would be given preferential treatment around campus by Michigan. This treatment is said to include payments for travel to and from games for Sarniak and members of Pryor’s family.

While these allegations are being debunked by the folks in the AD now, they have reached out to Rodriguez to confirm/deny the validity. As of last night, Rich has yet to return calls or emails from the Michigan staff regarding this matter. This may end up being nothing to worry about, but could also be very serious if Pryor/Sarniak cooperate with the story.
