(I know this will be buried in all the A's BTM excitement, but...)

Sleep No More

Goodbye NYC and back to LA! A week in NY was really the tops and I got to tour exhibitions, musicals, and eat wonderful foods. Many have surely visited New York and this was already third visit for me. I bunked a week in SoHo and it is the best place in New York without a doubt!! It’s not so much of a tourist place but a much quieter and it has the world’s best shopping places. :)

At the beginning of the week, I saw Alexander McQueen’s art exhibition and that was quite an experience! Very talented man in designing clothes. WOW! Many well-known people are fans of McQueen’s creations and I can understand why. At least Lady Gaga uses many Alexander McQueen’s outfits and shoes. These shoes are surely familiar to everyone from Lady Gaga’s videos and red carpets.

It’s a pity that taking photos inside the museum was forbidden… :( You have to reserve a lot of time, because the lines to the exhibition were looooooong!! About three hours, so you can judge from that how long… I myself snuck in quietly past the queue :) haha!! I don’t hate anything else as much as waiting!! Aaargh!! I can’t stand still. I think this is a problem for quite a few??
On Friday, I was with friends to see a “theater” play called “Sleep no more” and the only thing I can say is O M G!! [not a literal translation, but conveys the same meaning] It is hard to describe with words, but hopefully you can get some sense out of this. You walk in to the show through a dark maze and everyone is given a numbered card to their hand. After the maze you end up to a 30s’-40s’ themed cabaret restaurant, where you have a chance to have a few drinks… And at this point I’m gonna say that you should take the few!! Everyone, including the waiters, was dressed according to the theme and the atmosphere is really authentic. You have to wait in the restaurant for as long as your number is called and after that the spectators are divided into groups. There is a room in the back of the restaurant where you have to go, and there they will give out masks for everyone to wear. You are given instructions that you can’t talk during the performance and you can’t remove the mask… (at this point I was already so panicked)… And this just the beginning of it all… You are welcomed to a hotel where strange things happen and you get to hear a brief explanation of the history of the hotel. The hotel where you are taken has six different floors where you can move around wherever you want. There are people living in the hotel, “actors”, and it is best to follow where they are going. At times you can’t know who is an actor and who is a spectator though, if the actors put on the masks as well. Very scary!! The place is huge, dark, scary, smoky, and there are strange things happening in the rooms… E.g. “murders”. Once I ended up in a labyrinth where it took me 15 minutes to find my way out… All in all you have 2 hours to wander around the hotel and I suggest that everyone stays to see the end of the show. The end of the whole thing is the best and you find out the whole story. I know it is hard to make sense out of this, but you just can’t write it… You have to see it!! The most frightening experience ever, but really impressive!! Maybe in a week I’ll be able to sleep my nights soundly without thinking about this…

New York was wonderful, but even more wonderful was retuning back to Los Angeles!! YAY
