A group of Gaddafi loyalists pretended to be with the revolutionaries in Benghazi were in fact a Pro-#Gaddafi militia known as the "Nida Libya" Brigade. Gaddafi Loyalists released several hundred Gaddafi soldiers and other prisoners from prisons in #Benghazi.
It appears that the Gaddafi militia received orders Saif Al Islam in a Libyan State TV broadcast entitled "An Appeal to Libya".
The Gaddafi regiment was subdued and arrested by February 17 of the National Council of Preventive Security. Benghazi security officials resorted to using tanks to target the 5th columners encampment and bombed the camp. This has resulted in death of 17 people from the revolutionaries and 27 of the 5th Column. Upon entering the camp, Benghazi officials found cutting-edge devices and Thuraya Sat phones.
