Is This It Fan Book entry of the day is a lovely little message from Hanan Erikat from Chicago, Illinois. Enjoy :)

"People always talk about how novels such as Catcher in the Rye helped them become self aware. I read the book when I was a teenager, and I loved it. But my true coming of age happened the first time I heard Is This It.

From the first track, I was absolutely transfixed. As I lay on my bed, my headphones delivering me to catatonic bliss, I knew that I had found something special.

That was more than five years ago. Since then, I’ve listened to Is This It nearly every day. When I first saw The Strokes at Outside Lands in 2010, I nearly cried (the only thing getting in the way was that I was jumping excitedly and singing along loudly to every word).

The Strokes are my favourite band because they are timeless and edgy, because they make music worth listening to. Each of the band members delivers something unique and powerful, and it all comes together like a supernova of musical catharsis. But the thing I love the most about Is This It is the fact that no matter when I listen to it—in the best of moods or the worst, in times of happiness, creativity, boredom or depression—Is This It always sounds like home."

Keep your messages coming, they are AMAZING so far. Pictures and drawings also welcome! Spread the word :)
