beatles,
beautifully articulated! Another hard core fan here, and I agree with every word. Love that you dug up quotes from when Jeff didn't produce for stunts.

I would like to reinforce the bit about repeat locations. New location and culturally specific seasons are what I love. I know Burnett thinks that "theme" seasons are a waste of new locations, but I disagree. I don't like the themes: I do care about seeing beautiful remote locations suitable for water challenges. Aitutaki, Nuku Hiva, Pulau Tiga ...

I can see the opening for Survivor 23:

"Somewhere" in the South Pacific, 16 people who have only met on Facebook and Twitter will be saddled with two "eccentric" return players who are here to redeem themselves for hogging all the facetime of their original seasons. (How returning accomplishes this is unclear).

For 39 days, you will "thrill" to the sight of players battling "not to lose" by taking on "easy difficulty" fragments of former challenges, days and even weeks after Jeff snuffed their torch.

You will not see rewards that introduce the players and viewers to new and interesting tribes of the Pacific Islands. You will not see challenges based on the local culture. You will not see reward feast based on local foods, but rather picnic rewards sponsored by American products. You will see the wonders of a digital phone device, as if you had never seen that before.

In the end, you will see which player has managed to drag the two least respected players of the season to the F3, and you will see yet another Finalist get zero votes.

If you are lucky, one player in the F5 will hold your interest. Oh wait, I mean the Final 8! Yes, there may be EIGHT people left by the fourteenth episode. We really want to have at least one person left who might get you to watch the Finale, even if they will be out after 15 minutes, 30 minutes tops.

And if you don't like the show, be sure to catch the EXTRA segments showing the production team funning around and showing off their lifestyle of making a show where they can compete for beer while working. Also not to be missed segments of LOSER players eating 10 catered meals a day and living in a resort.

Wow, can't wait for September guys.
