I hear that Mayorga is making statements like "MMA is for gay people", and the MMA comunity is getting all excited about this, but please, don't. Just really think about what he said, and then look at the champions that MMA has or had. Anderson Silva, gay? Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Lidell, Cain Valesquez, Jose Aldo, Dominique Cruz, Jr Dos Santos, Randy Couture, I can go on and on, hey, even Bas Rutten? We all are gay? Hahaha, see what I mean?

The sad thing is that he probably said this because he's afraid to fight himself, FIGHT, I say, not box. The last fight that he had scheduled against Yves Edwards, he pulled out. Stitch, (Jacob Duran) told me that Don King pulled him out of this fight because they were afraid he would get beat up. Don King told Stitch this personally, in Germany, this is 100% the truth, ask him!

Knowing this now, makes his comment suddenly very pathetic, am I right?

Many boxers are against it because MMA suddenly stole their spotlight, at least, that's what they think. They don't realize that the MMA community also LOVES boxing. Many MMA fans love boxing as well, and now, with a statement like that, he lost a lot of fans, and I was one of those, I use to love to watch Mayorga box, but now, there is no way on Earth that I will buy a PPV for a show that he fights at. So with that statement he hurt himself in the wallet.

It's a different art, what are they afraid off? Boxing is beautiful, Thai Boxing and MMA as well. They are all different forms of Martial Art.
Many boxers never talked bad about Thai Boxing, and you know why that is? Because Thai Boxing is not as popular as MMA, and the Thai Boxers don't make as much money as the boxers. And you already feel where I am going right? Yeah, that's right, because now you realize that it's a "money issue". If Thai boxing would have been as big as MMA, I guarantee you that the boxers (not all of them of course) ALSO would have started to bag on Thai Boxing.

Isn't that dumb? They simply are afraid that MMA will take their careers away, and that's why boxing promoters, like Bob Arum, also talk like Mayorga does, because they also get hurt in the financial department. Its like they all had a meeting together in where they said: "lets take away the "manliness" of MMA and we all start calling them "gay", yeah, that will teach them! Haha
First of all, "manliness" is about the person who you are, not their sexuality.

Second, ground fighting is weak? Having the ability to break, pretty much, any bone or joint in a persons body, is weak??
I broke somebodies shin bone in half by accident with an inverted heel hook, I have seen a shin break in half with a toe hold, I've seen arms break, shoulders dislocated, people been putting to sleep!!! And that's weak?

I was one of those guys, all the way back in the beginning of my Pancrase career. I told Frank Shamrock "get up, fight like a man", till this day I feel like a complete idiot for making that comment, because that changed when I broke that guys shin bone in half by accident.
I saw that heel hook a day before the fight on a big screen, i saw somebody sitting in half guard, hooking the heel, and falling back. I thought, "thats a cool move", so the next day, when  was fighting, I ended up in a "half guard" and thought to "give it a shot". But since I never did this move before, I had no clue about how much pressure I put on my opponents knee/shin/ankle, and when I fell back, I snapped his shin bone in half.

And that's where I realized how much "power" a ground fighter has, that he can do anything he wants with a person, once it goes to the ground.
Meaning, any boxer who doesn't train the ground because they think it's "gay", and will do an MMA match, they ONLY have a "punchers chance", and if they miss that chance, they are done. And I hope, really hope, that Mayorga will back up his words and steps into a cage, he better hope he lands that punch, because if it goes to the ground, I am pretty sure that his opponent is not gonna give him time to tap, and will break, very "gay like" (as they call it themselves) anything that he's holding on to at that moment

Godspeed and party on!

Bas
