Our representative democracy requires a peaceful transition of power after an election. That is no longer happening. Results of elections, legislation and judicial decisions are no longer respected. Instead these events immediately launch a counter attack and the election, law or decision is never really settled.

The tactic of never accepting the majority imperative or authority positions freezes effective government and fuels the fires of discontent. The fact that these tactics are used intentionally, with full knowledge of the consequences leads me to the logical conclusion that our form of government will become continually more ineffective and ultimately fail.

When leaders are not able to step up and galvanize our nation behind common commitment and purpose, we drift apart and become diluted by the cesspool of problems that surround us.
