I may be in the minority regarding Elijah here, but... (and what the hell, I'll use twitlonger so I don't drop spoilers) ...I still think that Elijah is actually honourable. Because it's FAMILY, and the whole point of him going after Klaus was to avenge his family. Killing Klaus knowing that there's a chance to find them and bring them back would be a greater dishonour than letting Klaus live.
And what else has this show shown us lately if not how important family really is and the lengths to which people will go to to protect the people they love?
So, yeah, I have more respect for Elijah now for letting Klaus live than I would if he'd killed him knowing there was a chance for his family.
