On the #Economic burden of federal #regulation: The current paperwork burden on the #economy generated by the US Treasury Dept alone--more than 90% of which consists of #tax forms--is now estimated at between 7.6 and 7.8 BILLION HOURS according to the Office of Management and Budget ( #OMB ) and http://www.RegInfo.gov.

To put that in perspective that is the equivalent of 3.7 MILLION employees working year-round (without vacations)! That is MORE EMPLOYEES than are employed by the five largest employers among the Fortune 500 firms--more than ALL the workers in all the Wal-Mart Stores, United Parcel Service (UPS), McDonald's, IBM and CitiGroup combined.

Imagine how much better our economy might be if we could turn 3.7 MILLION workers to PRODUCTIVE WORK--making things and providing services that PEOPLE WANT, instead of just satisfying the U.S. #government's insatiable desire for more control and more #tax money. http://tl.gd/a5or32 · Reply
