an update to what happened today regarding #KhobarGirlsUnite
@H_eba & @1nc headed to the first polling station.
it was closed and did not even have a resemblance of a functioning voting station although it was listed in the official government website!

So they headed to the Saudi Aramco Voting Poll and were faced with a check point that didn't even allow them to go into the area. Apparently, the second poll is located in an all male dormitory style residence block and absolutely no female presence is allowed.

But our persistent comrades did not give up and proceeded to the third polling station in the Khobar district; Ibn Cina school in Cornich alongside jareer Bookstore.
after waiting for an hour for others to show up, they decided to go in alone- the two of them. They managed to convince the administrators of their right to register as voters and were treated with absolute respect.

apparently, not only were they the first females to reister as voters, they were also the first people to register period.
they met up with a reporter from Alyoum newspaper who took their statement.
