Israeli gunboats shelled several areas on the coast of the Gaza Strip with mortar artillery and heavy bursts of heavy machine guns. No reports of casualties or damage.

Our correspondent says in Khan Younis in southern Gaza that the Israeli boats patrolling the sea heavily pounded Khan Yunis, causing no injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli boats fired at least one shell in the north-west of Gaza, which caused a state of fear and panic amoung Palestinian fishermen.

Israeli gunboats also fired machine guns at fishing boats.

Israeli occupation forces attack fishermen and farmers along the borders of the Gaza Strip, land and sea, an almost daily basis.
