Wanting to clarify something seeing lots of whine and indignation from various corners from people not understanding why we got an invitation to a Welcome to the Rileys pre-screening.

Yes we are a Twilight blog, it is our primary focus, but not our only focus. We will cover other projects of Stephenie Meyer like The Host, Project Book Babe, and other projects of the actors and their charity items. We have covered other projects of Kristen, Rob, Ashley, Dakota, Jackson, Mike, Justin, Edi, Tinsel, Rachelle, etc

Do we cover every item for every actor? No, we'd close down for all other business. We tend to do the official press interviews, trailers, actor tweeted, and studio released items of those projects. That's why you didn't see any fan photos of making of Water for Elephants, Bel Ami, Butter, Apparition, etc shots that were all over the Internet this summer unless it was a studio driven PR item on our blog because it's not our focus. We do the items when they are about to hit the big screen, TV or DVD or when the actor/studio sends out info.

The fact that we don't cover the personal relationships of Rob and Kristen, Kellan and Anna Lynne, Ashley and Joe doesn't mean we don't think they are there, don't like those stars, or aren't giving them support. They just aren't our focus and since the stars don't seem to want to highlight that angle publicly we don't either. On the other hand if stars like Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke openly talk about their relationships then we will cover that angle time to time. If you are a blogger who covers relationships, great more power to you. Nothing wrong with it, it's your focus it just doesn't happen to be ours.

As to why we get invited to any event, and not someone else. It's marketing, PR, word-of-mouth, having a press kit, being NYC-based, having a site that loads fast and tracks on quantcast, having an email address that's easy to find and some who responds to queries quickly and with the data asked for, having done homework to see what PR firms want, lots of things. The point of marketing is twofold: please your fanbase, and to spread the word to people who might be interested to convince them there have to be interested. For example, when Twilight was being promoted in 2008 half of the invited fansites were Potter related sites.

Next, we do not hate Kristen Stewart if anything we have consistently DEFENDED her. Read the entry below. There are multiple examples of us discussing this view of Kristen, and her talent blog post after blog post since 2008. It's also a point of view we have reiterated at more Twilight conventions than I can count!

Do we post about every dumbass Kristen rumor and demand a retraction of what it said? No, because it only gives more PR to morons from Gossip blogs in love with the sound of their own voice. Why would we want to fuel the fire and give them more PR which equals hits to their website and ad revenue??? Plus at a certain point I have an intrinsic faith in humanity that surely no one is so stupid to believe that Rob and Kristen are having an imminent voodoo wedding, and if they are that dumb I'd rather they just leave our fandom because their stupidity makes the rest of us look bad.

So to summarize. Do we hate Kristen? No. Why did we get invited to the WTTR screening? Don't know, we tried to get passes for The Runaways and got nowhere fast. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. This invite came out of the blue at 11:00 am yesterday.

Do you want to know how to promote your blog to an actor's management/movie company/etc? Here's a thought, ask someone who has managed it by emailing them and seeing if they would share the info instead of being snarky on Twitter. As the old adage goes, "All ASSumptions do is make an ass out of you and me!"
