hmmmmm would make for a great essay though I think. Comparing Nick Carraway & Charles Ryder in terms of the way they deal with & react to the decadent 1920s society they are introduced to & their relationship with the people they meet there. Nick is def'ly more judgemental, Charles more fascinated. They both are the kind of personalities that make people embrace them into their lives easily. Ofcourse I guess they almost have to be that way, for the story's sake, in order for them as narrators to become invited to and involved with a stratum of society they didn't have access to before. Interesting that Nick rejects the society for what happens with Gatsby but Charles on the other hand is hinted as having adopted, or at the very least accepted, the very religion that destroyed Sebastian and Julia.

Yeah I should stop thinking about The Great Gatsby & Brideshead Revisted already and go do my homework :|
